Bathing Fish is Full of Love.
Shmuel Taurog’s old timey tune celebrates his moving into a new apartment and the refreshed confidence and romance the experience inspires. He invites a friend over to the apartment and, when they take a magical bath together, they transform into fish.

Bathing Fish is Full of Love
I'm a playful kind of guy,
Smell the flowers,
Look at the sky,
Not the type to ignore a spark,
With a gal I met at the park,
I invite her to my pad,
I do my hair like a dashing lad.
Show her around my new place,
A big fat smile on my face,
Oh yeah!
Oh, to be in my new home,
A royal place to call my own,
It feels so good walking in the door,
I am a fish out of water no more.
Take a seat on my queen size bed,
She says, should I? I say go ahead!
I cuddle her in my lap,
She cuddles me right back.
Now it’s time to turn on the bath,
Do you believe I now have a bath?
Warm water fills the tub,
Bubbles bubble then they go pop, pop!
Oh, to be in my new home,
A private place to call my own,
It feels so fresh walking in the door,
I am a fish out of water no more.
Sprinkle lavender in the tub,
Smells divine, we scrub-a-dub,
Dip our toes in the purple waves,
Feet touch her, I feel brave.
But what I feel is not her skin,
But the scales of a fish's fin,
I look down, I'm not a man,
But a big ol’ fish – hot damn!
Oh, to be in my new home,
A bachelor pad to call my own,
It feels so grand walking in the door,
I am a fish out of water no more.

About the Storyteller: Shmuel Taurog
Shmuel Taurog is an artist based in Brooklyn who is part of Summertime’s studio program. Taurog is a multimedia artist whose process spans found object assemblage, drawing, dancing, storytelling, and more. In 2022 he collaborated with artist and art therapist Margot Werner on an interactive art happening and subsequent multimedia exhibition centered around “positive memory portals” and their calming effect on the psyche.
